Welcome to the Horror Blog

Dearest Readers,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who is here reading this today and welcome you all to my new horror blog. For those of you who are just joining me in my blogging endeavors,  I thought I’d give a little bit of background on myself and this project.

My name is Cat Voleur and I’m a writer of speculative fiction. I recently quit work as a freelancer so that I could pursue blogging as less of a hobby and more of a career. That’s the main reason why I’m bringing my passion for horror over to WordPress – so that I can reach a wider audience.

My previous blog In Defense of the Genre, is still alive and well, so if any of you have a Tumblr I encourage you to follow me. I put a lot of time and energy into promoting other users and giving my fellow horror fans easy access to free horror content. You can find things on there such as creepypastas, dark fiction zines and occasionally cute pictures of bats.

This blog is titled In Defense of the Horror as an homage to its roots – because the inspiration to finally pursue this dream of mine came largely from the positive response from my followers. While my Tumblr is geared more toward supplying fans with horror content, this blog is going to be more focused on creating nonfiction horror content such as reviews, articles and interviews.

Whether you’re just hearing about me for the first time or have been following my blog from the beginning – I just want to thank you for your interest in my project. You guys are the reason why I’m doing this, and it means a lot to have you here.
